It is designed to help modern readers “immediately find time-tested wisdom embedded in ancient text, “ The Wisdom of the Beginnings .” The first story in Genesis introduces the “Alliance the Creator made with all Families on the Earth. The last story (Genesis 6-10) contains the “Creator’s Covenant the Creator made with Noah.” The way of exploring “puts modern readers in the sandals of the ancient readers – acquiring wisdom they can immediately use in their lives.   When Ezra arrived in Jerusalem with the First Torah Scroll in Judah, he was accompanied by a body of 120 elders, judges, prophets, sages, teachers, and scribes . They had been members of the very large Jewish community in Babylon that was founded by the captives who had been taken there in 586 BCE by the Babylonian armies that destroyed the previous Temple.   This a difficult concept for many American Christians to grasp. However, in order to understand the movement Jesus led, we must think about the things that he did. His parents took him to the Temple in Jerusalem every Passover because he was circumcised and named when he was eight days old. That day he became a son of the covenant Yahweh made with Abraham and his descendants. If that hadn’t been done, he would not have been allowed to enter specific areas of the Temple. Give us our food daily. Our Father wants everyone to have food . He has created everything needed to produce crops and herds that provide the foods we eat.
