  Yahweh’s kingdom is large enough for people from all nations. Yeshua was a Jew and he spoke about Jewish things to Jewish people. But in the Jewish crowds listening to him there were also people from other nations that viewed themselves as part of his movement.   Always keep in mind that Yeshua’s movement was actively engaged in conversations over issues that were important to other Jewish sects.   In the first story in Genesis, we read God’s vision for all people. It describes a human community that live by TOV Wisdom and Values. In our society today, individualism, self-interests, individual rights, and wealth are among the highest values. In my opinion, people helping each other, by taking collective actions that are mutually inclusive and that measure TOV, would make life in America safer and better.   Parables are often seen as the hallmark of Yeshua’s teaching. They are stories, some only a sentence or two long. His followers, like Yeshua himself, were Jews, and they knew that parables were more than children’s stories or restatements of common knowledge. However, very few of his private explanations have been preserved and that makes his parables mysterious and often difficult for readers today.   In my previous email I pointed out that Yeshua was a skilled teacher and interpreter of the Torah and the Prophets . He used parables to highlight important points in sections of the biblical texts he taught . So, the first thing we must do to understand his parables is identify the portions of the biblical texts from which he was teaching or interpreting.
